Course Descriptions
Course Length: 4 hours
Description
The Rule Authoring Software: (RAS3), is an application available to state agencies and schools for the purpose of drafting administrative rules. This "Rules Processor" (instead of a word processor), allows users to create and save documents in the XML file format for their transmission and viewing over the Internet.
Participants in this course will learn the necessary skills to create, edit and save their documents in RAS.

- An overview of the ERF process
- Obtaining prepared rules from the Download page within the filer's ERF Website.
- RAS system requirements
- Exploring RAS menus and toolbar buttons
- Working with text
- Creating a new document
- Inserting levels
- Copying and pasting text from
- Saving documents in various formats
- Amending a rule
Prerequisites
- A basic understanding of the procedures and guidelines in the LSC Rule Drafting Manual and the JCARR Procedures Manual
- A working knowledge of
- Sizing and moving windows
- Working with menus
- Starting an application
- Working with files
- The Windows environment
Course Length: 4 hours
Description
ERF Website allows participants to experience the process of filing rules using the ERF Website. In addition, they will learn how to perform a Refile or Revision and how to Final File their rules for a Typical Package type.
